2005 Exercise

Exercise Scenario Overview
 
On Tuesday, August 9th, 2005 at approximately 19:20 hrs, the 911 dispatcher will be notified of an accident on Turner Rd. Fire Law Enforcement, and EMS will be dispatched to the scene, where they find a five car pile up with several injuries and one car that has been on fire. Several calls will come into dispatch alerting them of the accident.
 
At 19:30 the dispatcher will receive a call from someone saying that a car almost ran them over coming from the water treatment plant. They also state there looks like some kind of altercation was going on at the treatment plant and give a brief description of the car.
 
At 19:32 the person working in the treatment plant will call 911 and  advise the dispatcher that someone has broke in there and had thrown some kind of vial into the water supply and also caused a chlorine leak and he will need to shut off the water to the town. He also tells the dispatcher that the person said he will blow up the plant. The worker then passed out due to the chlorine leak.
 
At 19:40 the Pit Stop Manager will call stating he has been robbed by two or three men and they have taken a small boy hostage. Suspects are driving a brown four door VW Quantum with California tags.
 
At 19:45 dispatch starts getting calls from all over town that there is no water. Red Cross is asked to sit up station at First Baptist Church to assist. Cert Team members are called in to help notify people of the problem at the water plant.
 
At 19:52 the dispatcher receives a call that a house fire at 1725 21 Mine Rd. and that there may be people still inside.
 
At 20:20 the dispatcher receives a call stating there is a strange man with a young boy walking around the Catholic Church. Law Enforcement finds the man which matches the description of the man who robbed the Pit Stop. He states he doesn't know where the boy is. CERT team is dispatched to search for the boy.
 
At 20:30 a man will walk in and take the dispatcher hostage and advises the dispatcher that he will let them go and tell where they hid the boy if they release his friend that was caught.
 
At 21:00hrs. the exercise will end.
 
As the particpants know the times of the exercise had changed due to unforeseen problems. We wish to thank all departments in particpating in the exercise.
